Apologetics: Is the God of the Bible Three Gods or One?

The word trinity is not anywhere to be found inside the bible, but the concept is clearly expressed throughout the New Testament.  It is a word that was first expressed by Theophilus (A.D. 168-183).  The God of the bible is clearly one God expressed in three distinct persons, each having their role and part in history. The Trinity doctrine explains the Father is fully God, the Son Jesus Christ is fully God, and that the Holy Spirit is fully God–each a separate person of the trinity, but the same God working together in absolute perfect and complete harmony.  We see this clearly displayed in several different passages in the bible, but especially in the passage at Mark 1:10-11 where it says, "As Jesus was coming up out of the water, he saw heaven being torn open and the Spirit descending on him like a dove.”  And a voice came from heaven: "You are my Son, whom I love; with you I am well pleased."  This passage shows all three in the same place at the baptism of Jesus.  The voice saying, ' I am well pleased' at the end is clearly the Father, expressing his excitement over the perfect obedience of the Son to the plan that was made before the foundations of the world.
They say Christians are into pluralism, the worship of more than one God. This is completely false and a belief that can only be taken out of context compared to what is already stated about God in the scriptures. The Pharisees tried to ascribe pluralism to Jesus and called it blasphemy, as he was quoted as saying, "I and my Father are one."  God the Father had the divine plan, Jesus came to fulfill the plan on the earth and the person of the Holy Spirit came to dwell within the holy vessels of each believer, causing them to do the will of God.  There is obviously much more work that each person of the trinity does, but that would take a volume of information to complete.  This brief post is just a quick snapshot of the concept of the trinity and how it is clearly supported throughout scripture.
