Seeing God in a Flower

I use to think that flowers were so feminine, so non-manly, I wouldn't even bother to pay them any mind. Most men are like this. For 27 years I had a mindset that it was girly to have one in your possession, peer at or even refer to one unless I was actually giving it to someone of the opposite sex.  It wasn't until I came into a relationship with God that I started to see their incredible beauty, structure and dynamics and what he could show in something so small and unique to show he was the creator of the universe.  They even have their own communicational language called floriography.  Each color has its own meaning and understanding which are the reasons why people decide to give certain kinds over others.

I see God in flowers because I look for God in the little miraculous wonders of the world.  Have you ever noticed when you walk around that the neighborhood , from trees to grass, buldings to cars--it's all really nothing more than shades of grey, until you come to a garden or delicately planted flowers bed.  It seems it’s the only place on the planet accept for Jacque Cousteau's Under Water Sea Odessy, where color actually explodes at you with a vibrancy that almost knocks you off your feet if you look close enough.  Those flowers are male and female and have reproductive organs.  They even show atheist how to praise God during a process of athesis, a wonderful thing that we all enjoy during the springtime.

I see God in a flower because I see wonder, I see beauty untold, I see magnificently organized systems, alive and shouting his praises.  Christians who have had near death experiences and come back to talk about it will talk about going to Heaven and meeting their Savior and praising him, but being told they must go back.  Many times they will talk about, outside of the wonder of meeting Jesus, the masses of gorgeous flowers with a fragrance and beauty that cannot be explained nor understood in human terms.  One person said, "I could've spent a thousand years at just starring at and trying to comprehend the luster of just one of these flowers in Heaven."   Look what Jesus said about one of his most simple creations of the  Lillie's of the Valley in Matthew 6:28, "And why do you worry about clothes? See how the lilies of the field grow. They do not labor or spin.  Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these."  Next time you are down and out, check out any patch of planted flowers, Gods just trying to dazzle you–he's the only one that can get away with showing off.
