Some people say that peas are so horrible that the taste alone can kill you, and I was a firm believer of this growing up so you could imagine eating a pea sandwhich and all the negative conotations that would have. But on a more serios note, our words are truly a matter of life and death. What do we want for our marriages, children and relationships that make up our immediate social circles? It has always been said that sticks and stones may break my bones but words will never hurt me. Well I say sticks and stones may break my bones but words will destroy the soul. The bible is clear in proverbs 18:21, " The tongue speaks life and death and those who love it shall eat the fruits there of." Doing the 30-day negativity fast has not been easy, cropping out every negative word or sentence, but it is helpful and important
in getting closer in our relationship with Christ. Sure, some people say they have a right to be negative because they have a B negative blood type, but these are the types of people you want to avoid like the plague. If you must have a relationship with them, let it be a long distance one, praying for them often. I avoid negative crybabies who are professional fence-setters because I am a firm believer in you are who you hang out with; you are either influencing for Christ or they are influencing you to the negative. Growing up, I had a plenty of destructive words and themes thrown at me as I grew up and it took me twenty-seven years to be passed it. Over the years, I began to believe the evil spoken against me and act it out at an early age because it was so prevalent. I believe this is a principal, but not a situation where if a person is a solid Christian who watches their words, but all of a sudden has a down moment, speaking negative words into his own life or in someone else's, that God is all of a sudden going to curse him or that he will be cursed for generations to come or even die. Yes, it is not good that we say bad things and we should always repent quickly, but some people think that if you speak a negative word or think negative that the Devil and the Pitchfork Crew has the right to come and throw us underneath Hell. We need to remember the Good Book says, "He who holds his tongue is wise." Therefore, if we are speaking negative words from our mouth continually we must beware of the principle of spreading death to others around us. If we trust in God for the right frame of mind then we will be more apt to speak life and watch the words coming out of us.
